The kai holo kū is one of the most well-known zones within the ocean. It is where the fishes run and is easy accessibility for humans to explore and learn about. The kai holo kū is within the epipelagic zone (0-200 meters from the surface) and obtains the most amount of sunlight than any other zone. The abundance of sunlight allows for tons of different environments and species to thrive. Organisms such as coral and seaweed, or limu, flourish here providing tons of food for other species to grow as well as habitats.
